San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District
Fire Chief

From
a very young age I knew a career in the fire service was the
direction I had to take. I was fortunate to begin my career when
I was twenty-one years old. I started as a firefighter in the
City of Pacifica Fire Department in 1978. Within a year I was
hired in the Danville Fire Protection District.
Throughout the years I have been very thankful for opportunities
to experience many different aspects of the fire service.
The opportunity
to be Chief of the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is
a tremendous privilege and honor. This organization and the
people involved with it have contributed greatly to my life.
My vision for the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District
focuses on quality leadership and the District’s mission. The
District’s mission statement, which was revised in 2003, by a
team representing all aspects of the agency, is: “In the spirit
of our tradition, we strive for excellence, respectfully serving
all with pride, honor and compassion.” This mission statement,
in conjunction with the District’s four major goals areas of,
Service, Fiscal Management, Organization Efficiency, and
Culture, provide the framework for leadership and for all
employees to perform with focus and common purposes.

These are exciting times with many expectations and demands. It
is not always easy. There are pressures from many areas creating
challenges for the District. I am optimistic and energized by
the possibilities of the future. I take my role and
responsibilities seriously, and I assure you I will continue to
contribute to the best of my abilities as we move into the
future.
