Fire Chief:

From a very young age I knew a career in the fire service was the direction I had to take. I was fortunate to begin my career when I was twenty-one years old. I started as a firefighter in the City of Pacifica Fire Department in 1978. Within a year I was hired in the Danville Fire Protection District. Click Here to learn more about the Fire Chief.

Management Team and Operations:

Operations is the Division that most people are familiar with. Under the Direction of an Assistant Chief, there is a staff that works 24 hour shifts. The shifts are commanded by a Battalion Chief, who is the highest ranking person on a shift. Click Here to learn more about Operations.

Training Division:

The most important non-emergency related activity for any fire department is the training of its personnel. The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District's Training Division provides innovative and continuing training to front line suppression/ambulance personnel, volunteer firefighters and managerial staff. Rescue Division:

In addition to the type of rescues required in auto accidents where victims may need to be extricated from their vehicles, the District frequently finds itself providing rescue services for climbers and others utilizing the Las Trampas Regional Park and Mt. Diablo State Park areas.  Click Here to learn more about the Rescue Division.

Suppression Division:

The District's suppression personnel are divided into three platoons, A, B and C. Each platoon is commanded by a Battalion Chief who is responsible for the workings of his individual shift, communicating with the other shift's Battalion Chiefs to provide for continuity of ongoing projects and day-to-day operations. Battalion Chiefs work directly with the station captains, who head the three or four member companies assigned to a station. Click Here to learn more about the Suppression Division.
